Our new programme – bringing clean water to more schools in Uganda

Providing clean water to
7,000 pupils and staff
at 10 schools

Supported by our local NGO partner in Uganda – Masaka District Land
Care Chapter

Supporting SDG 6 (water), SDG 2 (hunger), SDG 4 (education), SDG 3 (health) & SDG 13 (climate)

We are thrilled that our first two year water harvesting programme in Ugandan schools completed in July 2025! You can find out more about this programme here.

There are many more schools in the Masaka region in need of clean water. Following extensive research to identify schools with the most need, we commenced a second new tanks programme in November 2025. We are delighted to once again work with our local partners ‘Masaka District Land Care Chapter’ (MADLACC) and our local expert local engineer.

Progress to date

** This second tank programme will be our final programme in Uganda as WaterHarvest is closing in 2027, our 40th Anniversary year. Although this is sad news, our anniversary feels like an appropriate milestone to bring the charity to a close and we have much to celebrate from our four decades of rainwater harvesting.
