Improved access to clean water and sanitation in schools increases concentration and pupil attendance
Drinking contaminated water leads to poor concentration and, in more severe cases, impaired cognitive function. Part of WaterHarvest’s work focuses on building rainwater harvesting structures for schools. These simple structures catch and store the monsoon rains and provide year round clean drinking water at school for the pupils. In addition to providing clean water, our work also incorporates hygiene and sanitation training. Since young children learn best whilst having fun, our programmes use specially adapted games such as snakes and ladders. Watch the video to see more.
